I had removed starter and checked it off of the engine and it seemed to work fine so reinstalled and it worked good. On our Foreman 500's I have had the starters lose ground. Once you have the starter off you can change them in under 10 minutes with a small socket set. Not sure on your year, but you need probably #2 and #3. I rode it a bit, shut it off, and all it would do was click at the solenoid. Last night I went to start my Rancher 420, it started fine, but I thought to myself the starter made a different noise.
